THE JUNGIAN INSPIRED HOLOCAUST WRITINGS OF ETTY HILLESUM:
To Write is To Act – Her Times and Our Times
In this webinar, Barbara Morrill will explore Etty Hillesum’s process of self-realization from a Jungian inspired, feminist point of vieuw. Using a stage model built from Carol Christ, a Jungian oriented theologian, and from Etty’s own experience, examples of these stages will be discussed by using Etty’s quotes and experiences.
In addition, Etty’s actions of writing, choosing to not go into hiding, her care of others and standing firm against the evil forces of her time and the cultural complexes of her time can be used today to help us stand firm against the chaos and authoritarian inclinations – the cultural complexes of our time. Her hope for those who come after her is for us is to know our own shadow individuals and collectively – In short to “develop ourselves”
